Getting to Žabljak and into Durmitor

Žabljak is a mountain gateway, so the last road matters more than the straight-line distance from Podgorica or the coast. A summer drive through scenic country can become slower in rain, while winter snow can change which road is usable. Plan arrival in daylight where possible and check current official road and weather information. The centre supports bus arrivals better than scattered cabins; a remote property needs a precise drop-off or car route. For a first park visit, Black Lake is the simplest orientation point, but the park ticket and a boat hire are separate items.
