Questions about combining Bali, Lombok and the Gilis

When is a good time for this island route?

Rough Guides identifies April–September as Lombok’s usual drier travel window. BMKG’s 2026 seasonal update describes regional variation and a longer, drier-than-normal season over much of Indonesia. Neither is a forecast for your three crossings. Choose dates for the holiday you want, then consult current marine conditions and operator notices near travel.

Can I visit Gili Air or Gili Meno as well?

Choose a neighbour-island outing instead of one existing Trawangan day, with a confirmed return. The operator’s route page distinguishes locally bought short island hops from its longer crossings. Another Gili hotel would create an extra room move and require a different night allocation; this itinerary does not silently add that booking.

Does this schedule work if I do not snorkel?

Yes, when a land-based island stay appeals to you. Replace the water programme with the conservation organisation’s land tour or your own local interests. You still have an island food evening and time around the room. Check the actual walking or cycling participation requirements; choosing a land programme does not automatically establish step-free access.

Could I add Rinjani’s summit during the Lombok stay?

That would be a different holiday plan. The route’s two full mainland days serve west-coast culture and weaving, rather than a multi-day mountain commitment. Reassign nights and research the national park’s current route access, guided trek requirements and preparation before buying a summit trip. It cannot be inserted as an ordinary coastal afternoon.
