Jadrolinija currently lists the Gaženica–Brbinj car ferry at about 1 hour 40 minutes, while the passenger line calling at Božava and Brbinj follows a different pattern. Select by the settlement and ground transfer, not simply the shortest sea time. A Brbinj arrival can still require a substantial road journey to Božava or Soline, so have the host, bus or taxi plan recorded before leaving Zadar. Buy food and water during a long buffer because island shop hours are not a rescue strategy. On arrival, keep the programme to a waterfront walk and dinner. The reward for accepting this logistical day is waking on the outer island with a full day ahead.

From a northern base, Sakarun is the coherent choice. The tourism board describes a roughly 300-metre bay with shallow water and pine shade near Božava, Soline and Veli Rat. Combine the swim with Veli Rat only if the road timing remains relaxed. Telašćica makes more sense from Sali or with a properly organised boat or road excursion. Its official pricing distinguishes pedestrian land entry, vehicle entry and arrival by vessel, so ask which category is included rather than quoting a single park price as universal. Wind, wildfire restrictions or rough water can invalidate either plan. The fallback is not failure: spend the day among nearby coves, take a short shaded walk, and give the island the unhurried time the transfer day earned.

Use the sailing confirmed for your date and arrive at the port earlier than the minimum if travelling with a vehicle. A same-day flight is sensible only when the ferry schedule leaves a generous margin and a later recovery option exists. With an early or inflexible flight, the editorial recommendation is clear—add a seventh night in Zadar and fly the following day. If the connection is comfortable, store luggage in the city and take a final lunch rather than hauling bags through old-town paving. Do not attach Kornati today. A licensed Kornati excursion needs a whole weather-compatible day, and a yacht itinerary needs separate provisioning, skipper and park-ticket decisions.
