Begin in Çanakkale with an unhurried walk along the Kordon. The Dardanelles is a working waterway, with ferries and ships giving the view a scale that a map cannot convey. Around the clock tower, the streets provide an easy place for dinner after arrival. The waterfront wooden horse is a modern film prop, distinct from the archaeological site you will visit tomorrow. A room here keeps this evening walkable, while the rental car serves the next two days beyond town. Leave a Gallipoli peninsula visit for an additional day across the strait rather than trying to make it the opening afternoon of this route.

Europcar’s Çanakkale guidance permits Bozcaada ferry travel, but another provider may set different terms. For a harbour-town stay, dinner and an evening along the quay are enough; save the longer coast outing for the full island day tomorrow.

Start with Ayazma if you want Bozcaada’s best-known sandy beach, then choose the remainder of the day according to the wind and temperature. You do not need a complete island loop to enjoy the contrast with the mainland. Ayvalık’s old streets or Cunda’s waterfront provide a gentle afternoon once you arrive. Browse the town and choose dinner near the water. Tomorrow has the inland archaeological outing, so this day can end with the olive coast’s living streets instead of another exposed ruin.

Return to Ayvalık or Cunda for dinner; travellers preferring local streets and the sea can spend this day around their coastal base instead.

Drive south and return the rental at its contracted İzmir desk. The quoted rental ends at Adnan Menderes Airport at 10:00, so leave Ayvalık early and drive directly to the return desk before continuing into town. Choose and price a later return if you want a slow checkout morning. The 202 bus serves Cumhuriyet Square; a room near Basmane or Çankaya has a different final connection. Once settled, walk a manageable part of the bay and choose dinner nearby. İzmir’s broad waterfront and metropolitan scale change the mood after the smaller northern towns. There is no Ephesus detour today: tomorrow gives the city its own full day, and the following day holds the optional excursion.

Give İzmir a day of its own. Begin around Konak Square and walk into Kemeraltı, where the interest lies in a working market district rather than one isolated monument. Leave time for the commercial lanes and lunch before the waterfront. In the afternoon, follow the Kordon toward Alsancak, or use a bay ferry as the day’s single change of viewpoint. Boyoz gives breakfast a local flavour, while a long waterfront pause lets the city feel different from Troy and Pergamon. Use shaded or indoor stops during hot hours instead of adding a faraway district merely to lengthen the itinerary. With the car returned, walking and public transport carry this city day.

Choose Ephesus or Çeşme for the last full day. The core cost example chooses Ephesus, with its €40 foreign-adult admission; the Terrace Houses add €15 and are optional. If the flight requires an extra overnight stay, the trip becomes eleven days and ten nights; include that room instead of hiding it in a departure day.
