Sirkeci leads naturally to Eminönü and the Galata Bridge, where ferries, fishing lines and the skyline explain the Golden Horn at a glance. Yes, when the week contains only these two regions. Three nights in each place yield two full Istanbul days and two complete Cappadocia days. Adding Ephesus, Pamukkale or Antalya would replace experience with airports, packing and hotel changes.
An overnight coach can reduce the transport bill, but changes the six-hotel-night plan and the arrival day. It suits travellers who sleep well on buses and accept a recovery morning. Flying protects more usable daylight in this short version; use the ten-day car-free route for a journey built around land transport.
Neither airport wins universally. Nevşehir is geographically closer to many bases, while Kayseri can offer a different schedule or fare. Compare the exact flight with the available hotel transfer, baggage and arrival hour before deciding.
Use Göreme for the museum road, nearby walking routes and concentrated restaurants. Uçhisar suits a hilltop hotel stay but adds rides to this programme. Choose the exact property’s approach carefully: valley access from town does not make every cave room step-free.
Keep the two land days intact and follow the operator’s refund or rebooking terms. A second dawn is an opportunity, not a guaranteed replacement. From the ground, the museum’s painted churches, valley walks and an underground settlement still give the stay a complete purpose.
