Pair a manageable wander with dinner, then return to your base; there is no need to add another bay to the same evening.

Keep Nabq excursions selective

Rixos Premium Seagate illustrates the scale of the northern coast: its operator lists 18 km to Naama Bay and 25 km to Old Market. Those are distances from that property, not timings for every Nabq hotel. A mostly on-site stay can be convenient, but repeated town dinners change the transport bill and the time away from the resort.

Add Dahab as another stay when time allows

Dahab rewards its own waterfront days rather than an obligatory extra drive during a short Sharm break. Lunch and taxi allowances are spending choices, not market averages; alcohol, extra sites and other outings cost more.

    An all-inclusive Nabq resort can make sense when meals and afternoons remain on site. A Naama room with breakfast may be better value for people who want independent dinners and several boat days. Compare the full offer, including beach access and airport transport, rather than the room headline alone. Single occupancy changes the shared-room example above, and peak-period rates need a different calculation.

    The Ministry currently lists Sharm Museum admission at EGP 200 per foreign adult, so two adults add EGP 400 before the journey there; the optional audio tour is separate. Keep that visit outside the couple's base example unless you choose it. A road park outing is also a different purchase from the included boat days. Preserve each operator's currency and inclusions rather than comparing numbers without units.

    Camel describes daily destinations rather than a fixed repeating schedule, with local sites, Ras Mohammed and Tiran in its usual rotation. A named reef, wreck or wildlife encounter cannot be treated as a guaranteed feature of every departure. Book the experience appropriate to your level and keep room to move it. An all-day boat should be the day's main activity, with time afterwards for a meal and rest.

Is Sharm El-Sheikh good for a holiday without scuba?

Yes. A beach base, one guided snorkelling day and evenings in Naama or Old Market make a complete stay without a dive course. Sharm Museum gives a cultural alternative. Someone who will stay aboard during a sea trip should ask about shade, seating and the passenger programme; a snorkelling ticket is not automatically the best option for every non-swimmer.

Is a short Sharm escape enough, or should I book a week?

Three or four nights can work for a single-bay beach break with one main outing. A week gives space for several water sessions, a town evening and a spare day without moving hotels. Treat arrival and departure as partial days. A course or a second base in Dahab changes the available time and deserves its own plan.

Can children try scuba without taking an adult reef dive?

CDWS describes dedicated activities from age eight in a confined water area, where children become familiar with the equipment under instruction. That is a different activity from joining an adult boat dive. Ask a licensed centre for the age-appropriate programme, supervision and consent requirements for your child; a resort's general family label does not define its diving offer.

Is Nabq Bay the same place as Nabq Protectorate?

No. Nabq Bay is used for the northern resort coast; the protectorate is a protected landscape with mangroves, dunes, mountains and reefs. Staying at a Nabq hotel does not amount to booking a visit into that landscape. Select a named outing if the mangroves and nature are the reason you want to go.

Does a diving package always include a wetsuit and equipment?

No. Camel's daily diving tariff includes tanks and weights but prices full equipment rental separately. Its course rates include equipment, while fun-diving packages may not. A snorkelling product has different inclusions again. Price the service you need as a whole, especially if travelling without your own gear; the word 'package' does not settle what you will be handed.

Does a short Sinai resort permission cover a Cairo extension?

No. For British citizen passports arriving by air at Sharm, the free permission applies to stays under 15 days in specified South Sinai resorts. It does not cover onward travel to Cairo.
