Four full days, three different outings

Siargao is the island; Surigao City is the mainland ferry departure. Within Siargao, General Luna is the southern visitor town, Catangnan is its surf end, and Del Carmen lies on the western side. Northern Pacifico belongs to San Isidro. Use these place names to read an accommodation address before deciding which outings belong on your trip.

The first stay Five nights

Five nights give four full days: enough for a lesson, an island boat, the hosted lagoon route and a separate northern visit. With three nights and two full days, choose two outings. Arrival and departure days sit outside this count. Keep an additional day when you want to repeat coaching instead of assigning every usable morning to a different excursion.

Three islands Guyam, Naked and Daku

Guyam is the small palm-covered island, Naked is a sandbar and Daku is the larger beach-and-lunch stop. They share the usual boat circuit from General Luna. Those names help distinguish the offshore outing from Sugba Lagoon on the western side of Siargao. The landscape changes between the stops: sand without much shelter at Naked, trees at Guyam and a cottage lunch arrangement on the selected Daku outing.

A lagoon reached through town Del Carmen to Sugba

Sugba is reached by boat from Del Carmen’s municipal tourism centre. Kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding take place within the lagoon, after that approach. The lagoon is a western visit, separate from the offshore sandbars and lunch island reached from General Luna.

An Italian meal in town Kermit, Purok 5

Kermit’s restaurant serves brick-oven pizza, homemade pasta and seafood in Purok 5, General Luna. Its signature pizza combines cheeses and Parma ham; carbonara comes with pancetta, while the herb-crusted mahi-mahi is served over couscous. Pizza service runs from 11:00 to 22:00, so it works for a late lunch after coaching as well as dinner. The restaurant and the surf school are separate bookings; eating here does not require a room package.

Protected shore and sea Declared in October 1996

The protected landscape and seascape declaration dates to October 1996. The proclamation covers land and sea, rather than designating only the famous surf break.

The coaching team Named ISA-qualified head instructors

Kermit identifies Eloy and Jong as its head instructors, certified at International Surfing Association Level 1. The school also says many team members hold Emergency First Response certification.

Which Siargao base suits a first visit?

Choose General Luna for a first stay built around surf coaching, restaurants and boat outings. Tourism Road connects much of the visitor accommodation, while Catangnan puts you beside the Cloud 9 reef and boardwalk. Pacifico suits a trip centred on northern surf. Del Carmen is the western departure town for Sugba Lagoon boats. Start with the activity you want to do most often, then choose the overnight base; a north-coast room involves road travel when your reservations collect in General Luna.

Plan your Siargao days

Include your surf level, arrival airport or port, overnight base and whether you want a driver. Divide coaching, the three islands and the lagoon route into separate days.

Four Siargao bases

General Luna and Catangnan share the southern visitor area. Pacifico is a northern stay; Del Carmen faces the western lagoon departure. Compare the road to your main activity before comparing room prices.

Getting to Siargao and around

Sayak airport and Dapa port are different arrival points. Book the vehicle for the one on your ticket; the drive from the port is shorter for the selected General Luna hotels.

Flights and ferries

Flights to Sayak

Search for Sayak airport, code IAO. Philippine Airlines advertises Cebu–Siargao flights, taking roughly an hour. Inspect the sectors of a Manila–Sayak booking because it may involve a connection. Reserve the flight before fixing an afternoon lesson or island pickup. If you change mainland airports between journeys, include that road transfer when comparing the travel day.

Arriving at Dapa by ferry

Evaristo & Sons connects Surigao City’s Macapagal terminal and Dapa on Siargao. The booking partner’s 7 October 2026 examples take an hour and a half and quote ₱510 Economy, ₱560 Tourist or ₱620 Business per adult, before any additional booking or port charges. These are dated examples; choose the sailing offered for your actual journey. Bravo describes about 20–30 minutes from Dapa to its Tourism Road property. Allow for that road stage separately when deciding which town activity still fits after arrival.

Shared airport rides and departure time

ADAI publishes ₱300 per person between Sayak and General Luna in either direction. Kermit describes about 55 minutes from the airport to its town property. For departure, plan to leave General Luna roughly four hours before a domestic flight, allowing about an hour on the road and three hours at the airport. Cebu Pacific recommends the latter airport arrival time; for PAL, this is our planning buffer and your ticket’s instructions apply.

Getting around

Surf transfers and sightseeing rides

Kermit’s standalone coaching includes a motorbike transfer to nearby breaks, with farther spots charged separately. This covers the selected session, rather than an independently rented scooter for your entire stay. Tell the school where you are staying and discuss another vehicle if the motorbike arrangement does not suit you. For a northern day without coaching, use an agreed driver or private road programme. The lesson transfer and a vehicle hired for sightseeing answer different needs.

The General Luna island boat

ADAI’s Guyam–Naked–Daku joiner starts from ₱1,700 per person and carries at most 24 guests. It includes General Luna pickup and return, the boat, guide, docking and tourism charges, island entrance fees, a reserved cottage and lunch. Plan this as a separate outing rather than attaching it to a lesson. The listed three islands are the core programme; any extra stop depends on the actual conditions. Its published inclusions do not expressly provide snorkel equipment, so request that separately if you want it.

The five-stop land and lagoon outing

Shuttle’s ₱2,200 joiner connects Secret Beach at Malinao, Maasin, Magpupungko, Sugba Lagoon and Mountain View. General Luna collection is between 07:30 and 08:30, with an approximate 16:00 return. The ticket includes the van, fuel, guide, lagoon boat, lunch and the listed entrance, environmental, docking and parking fees. ADAI offers a different land tour from ₱2,100; compare its named stops and inclusions before choosing between the two.

Fees and bookings

Surf lesson and equipment scope

Kermit’s ₱1,600 session lasts two hours and pairs one participant with one instructor. The board is included. It is a per-person, per-session booking; accommodation is a different purchase. Discuss your level and the session’s break with the school. A timetable for a coached holiday includes time in and out of the water, so choose a lesson time before arranging another activity for that same part of the day.

What a private van covers

Shuttle’s private vehicle costs ₱5,000 for eight hours and up to ten passengers. Driver, fuel and hotel pickup and return are included; meals, attraction and environmental fees, and boat transfers are excluded. Agree on the custom road stops before booking. The hire lasts eight hours; a longer sample sightseeing programme does not extend it automatically.

Registering for the lagoon

Independent Sugba visitors organise the visit through Del Carmen’s tourism centre before taking a boat. Obtain a quote for your party and the equipment you want to use at the lagoon. The boat arrangement and kayaking or paddleboarding are separate services to discuss. If you start from General Luna, plan roughly an hour for the 39 km road via Dapa before registration. The 22 km straight-line distance between the towns does not represent that drive.

Siargao with limited mobility

Discuss the actual boarding and room route

The selected island and lagoon programmes involve boats as well as land transport. Send the operator your boarding needs before paying and ask how you will reach the boat at the actual landing. An inclusive pickup fare alone does not establish wheelchair access or assistance between a boat and sand. For a surf lesson, discuss the motorbike transfer with the school if it does not suit you. Choose accommodation from information about its entrance and room path, rather than the broad town or beachfront label.

Rain, swell and costs

The first example covers two adults. The private van shares cover parties of two, five or ten, while the room-and-surf package is for a couple. Flights and other accommodation are separate.

When to go

Regional rain, not an island forecast
  • PAGASA’s 1991–2020 Surigao records are a mainland reference for the region. November–January is wetter; May–August has lower rainfall. These are regional historical patterns, not precise monthly totals for Siargao or a forecast for your dates. Leave some flexibility between fixed boat outings: a drier month can still bring showers, and the local operator assesses conditions for the day’s crossing.

  • Experienced surf in the autumn months

Bravo identifies mid-September, October and November as its main period for experienced surfing. Beginner and intermediate opportunities can exist through the year when the school selects a suitable break.

  • The published 2026 competition dates

The organiser’s 2026 calendar lists the Pacifico event at Big Wish from 5–10 October and the Cloud 9 memorial event in Catangnan from 12–19 October. Choose the stay beside the event you want to watch. These are the published dates for this circuit, rather than a recurring annual timetable.

What Siargao costs

Two adults: lessons and two hosted days
  • Start from ₱12,200 for two adults taking one Kermit lesson each, ADAI’s three-island day, Shuttle’s land-and-lagoon day and shared airport rides both ways. The parts are ₱3,200 for lessons, from ₱3,400 for the island seats, ₱4,400 for the land seats and ₱1,200 for four airport seats. Lunch is included on both excursion days. This is a starting estimate because ADAI’s island fare starts from ₱1,700 per person. Rooms, flights, other meals, unlisted equipment and any extra surf transfer are separate.

  • Sharing the private road vehicle

The ₱5,000 eight-hour private van divides to ₱1,000 each for five people or ₱500 each for ten. These are transport shares, before meals, admissions and any lagoon boat. A pair pays ₱2,500 each for the same vehicle. Add the costs of your chosen stops before comparing that custom day with the inclusive ₱2,200 joiner.

  • A short room-and-surf package

Kermit advertises a three-day, two-night package for two sharing a Deluxe Room at The Henry Resort at Kermit Siargao, at ₱36,687 in total. It includes breakfast, return airport or harbour transfers, boards and one pizza per person. Each guest has four lessons, two a day. The total is roughly ₱18,344 each, as rounded by the operator. Compare this compact coached stay with separately booking the room, transfers and the same lessons; the five-night island-and-lagoon plan is a different holiday.

How much deposit reserves ADAI’s island tour?

Its bank-payment reservation option takes a fifty-percent deposit. At the advertised starting price of ₱1,700 each, two adults would pay ₱1,700 towards their ₱3,400 tour total. The operator also offers full payment by card or PayPal. Use the amount shown for your actual reservation.

Do I need a room package for two lessons in a day?

No. Kermit lists a ₱3,000 daily surf package per person with two guided sessions, the board, instructor and transport. It has no accommodation. Two separately booked ₱1,600 sessions total ₱3,200, so compare the day package when you want both sessions.

Does a Sugba ticket include a paddleboard?

Shuttle’s ₱2,200 ticket lists boat travel to Sugba. Ask for a separate equipment quote if you want a paddleboard or kayak at the lagoon. The municipal guide describes those activities, but reaching the lagoon by boat does not supply the equipment for them.

How far ahead should a Bravo guest arrange an airport car?

Bravo asks guests arranging its private airport service to do so at least 48 hours beforehand. That is the hotel’s booking condition, not a rule for every van at Sayak. Send the flight details through the property’s own transfer arrangement.

Can a large party request a lower airport fare?

ADAI says discounts may be available for groups of more than six passengers. A party of seven or more can request its quote. The published information does not give a discount amount, so use the provider’s party price rather than applying your own reduction to every seat.

How early should an Evaristo reserved passenger check in?

The booking partner’s Evaristo & Sons information asks reserved passengers to check in 45 minutes before sailing. This is time at the port, before the crossing. Leave additional time for the ride from General Luna to Dapa and use the departure shown on your dated ticket.
