The cliffs, mangrove rivers and local collections offer different ways to explore Krabi. Pick one or two that suit your interests, then leave time for the coast; these visits are options for your stay rather than a fixed daily schedule.
The limestone walls along the path between Railay East and Phra Nang have routes of different difficulty. Beginners can join guided instruction; experienced climbers have a broader choice of routes. It offers a more active encounter with the landscape than a boat view of the same cliffs.
At low tide, a sandbar appears between Tup, Mor and Chicken islands. The changing connection is the attraction: an island trip timed to the tide can offer the walk, while a higher tide gives a different sea view. Tell your operator if the sandbar is the main reason for choosing the excursion.
Near Ao Luek, a river through mangroves leads towards Phee Hua To Cave, where prehistoric paintings, shells and traces of earlier inhabitants have been found. A local boat or paddling outing combines the approach with a cave visit. Ao Luek is a different kayaking area from Tha Lane, so book the named cave excursion.
