The day-ten exit is a transport day, not another sea outing. Check the Mae Haad departure, the onward road or Samui airport product and any separately booked flight. A mainland recovery night can protect an important connection, but it is additional to these nine hotel nights unless another base loses a night. If a local tour is cancelled, keep the rooms and choose an appropriate island alternative. If an interbase ferry is cancelled, the hotel dates themselves may need changing. No amount of optional sightseeing can repair that missing transport connection.
